5 - Day Level 3 Course in English on Tibetan Medicine (September 20 to 24, 2016)


Men-Tsee-Khang is planning to conduct a 5/d Level 1& 2 Course in English on Tibetan Medicine from 8 – 19 September, 2016 and a 5d/ Level 3 Course in English on Tibetan Medicine from 20 - 24 September, 2016 at Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh (INDIA). Fee for 5d/L1 & 5d/L2 valid till March 31, 2017

Registration Category:- Foreign participants: Euro 225.00 USD 260.00, Participants from India/Bhutan/Nepal: INR 8450.00, Monks/Nuns/Students: INR 6337.50 for each course (Please attach a recommendation letter/ valid Identity card from the respective monastery, nunnery/school/university to receive this concessional rate).

5d/L3:- 5 – day course of level 3 are specialized courses, which offer two parallel & optional courses under the respective themes: “Healthy Mind Healthy Body” & “Materia Medica and Pharmacology”.
In order to take 5d/L3 course, a student must have our certificates in 5d/L1 and 5d/L2. Based upon the topics we offer from time to time under 5d/L3, doctors, medical students and other comparable disciplines may want to take the course. We reserve the rights to evaluate his/her knowledge and give our acceptance. However, other than auspicious scarf and souvenir on Valedictory Function, we will not issue participation certificates.
Since 5d//L3 are specialized courses, the number of participants may be less, and since 2 options are offered simultaneously we need to identify more resource persons. Therefore, we charge slightly more fees for the 5d/L3 courses. The fees we have set are for 5 or more participants. If the number is 4 or 3, we will still offer the courses, if the students are willing to pay still a little higher fee. If the registration is 2 or 1, we will cancel the course.

Fee for 5d/L3 valid till March 31, 2017
For the specialized courses, we are not able to offer discounts to participants from India, Nepal and Bhutan. Also, we are not able to offer discounts to monastics and students from India, Nepal & Bhutan.
Registration Fees for 5d/L3:-
Euro 260.00    USD 300.00 each (for 5 or more students)
Euro 325.00    USD 375.00 each (for 4 students)
Euro 435.00    USD 500.00 (for 3 students)

  • Prior registration is mandatory for both courses.

  • Payment of the fee can be made either by check or bank transfer in favor of Men-Tsee-Khang (State Bank of India, Account No # 10551097534, Swift Code# SBININBB277.  
  • Fee is inclusive of lunch, tea & snacks and handouts of the lessons.
  • Fees once paid are non-refundable

Course Location: Dharamsala
The course will be held at Men-Tsee-Khang College of the Tibetan Medical and Astro. Institute, which is located next to the Central Tibetan Administration, Dharamsala. Lying 526 km northwest of New Delhi, Dharamsala is the headquarters of the Kangra District in Himachal Pradesh. Kangra valley is one of the most pleasant, relaxing and spiritual places in the Himalayas. Marvelously scenic, especially upper Dharamsala, is well wooded with oak, cedar, pine and other timber yielding trees and offers some lovely walks and finer views. Nestled beautifully among the Dhauladhars Mountains this small town is well known worldwide for its scenic beauty and as the residence of the H.H the 14th Dalai Lama “Tenzin Gyatso”.

It is the administrative hub of the Tibetan government in exile and Buddhist pilgrimage center. People from all over the world come here to learn Buddhism and the Tibetan culture. It has become a major centre for the study of Buddhism and Tibetan culture. There are all sorts of holistic activities and courses on offer, and lots of travelers come here to volunteer on community projects that focus on the refugee community. The town has several ancient temples and monasteries. The atmosphere of the town is very spiritual with Buddhist religious practice and lifestyles. Other than that, it is a perfect destination for nature lovers who want to enjoy the beauty of Mother Nature or for the adventure lovers.

 How to reach Dharamsala
Dharamsala by Air: Gaggal airport in Kangra valley is the nearest airport. It is at the distance of 12 km away from Dharamsala. That connects domestic flights to Delhi. International travelers have to get connection through Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, which is about 520 km away from Dharamsala.
Dharamsala by Train: Nearest railway station is Kangra Mandir at a distance of 22 km from Dharamsala, but not every trains stop here. The major rail junction is Pathankot, which is about 85 km away from Dharamsala. Pathankot is well connected to all major cities in India
