Tibetan Medicine Study Programme
5-day Tibetan Medicine Study Programme was given to second group of six Medical students from Emory University School of Medicine from 19 - 23 June, 2017 at Men-Tsee-Khang college Hall. The programme was a part of the 5th Emory Tibet Medical Sciences Exchange Programme (ETMS 2017), a collaborative programme between Emory University and Men-Tsee-Khang since 2013.
The programme was organized and conducted by the faculty of Men-Tsee-Khang College. During the course of the five-day programme, the students had three sessions on the proposed topics of Tibetan Medicine: Introduction to Tibetan Medicine; overview of Tibetan Pharmacology; and Mind and Body relationship in Tibetan Medicine, and one session on the role of Tibetan Astro-Science in maintaining good health. Besides the courses, the students also gets two-hour sessions of clinical observation with the doctors at the Men-Tsee-Khang outpatient Clinic, and an exploratory tour to our pharmaceutical unit, quality assurance laboratory and museum guided by our faculty.
The students thoroughly enjoyed the experience and expressed their wishes to encourage more students back at Emory to join its future programmes. Men-Tsee-Khang takes an opportunity to thank the leadership of Emory for its support towards the programme and for its further expansion.
