4-DAY PROGRAM ON LEGACY OF TIBET

Tibet House and Men-Tsee-Khang (Sowa-Rigpa) had jointly organized a 4-day program, ‘Awakening the Sanctity of Life: Healthy Mind, Healthy Body.’ on December 9, 10, 12 and 13 of 2016 in New Delhi. The Theme drew on the Nalanda Tradition of Buddhism and Tibetan Medicine and Astro-Science, in order to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Tibet House and the 100th Anniversary of Men-Tsee-Khang (Sowa-Rigpa).

His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the key inspiration behind the foundation of the two Institutes, had inaugurated the ceremony at the Thayagraj Stadium with the Public lecture on ‘Meaning of Life and Secular Ethics’ on 9 of December 2016. With the blessing of His Holiness, the opening ceremony was also graced by the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Kiren Rijiju, Lieutenant Governor Shri Najeeb Jung, Kalon for Religion and Culture, Ven. Karma Gelek Yuthok and Former Director of the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, Kapila Vatsyayan. The remaining 3 days were held at Tibet House, New Delhi.

The program included Public Lectures, Sand Mandala of Medicine Buddha, Panel Discussion, Exhibitions and Men-Tsee-Khang (Sowa-Rigpa) Physicians and Astro-Science Practitioners rendering free health and Astro-Science consultation.

The program was a great success with around 7,000 people present in the Thayagraj Stadium and hall packed audience to participate in the remaining 3 days program in Tibet House, New Delhi.
