Medical Camp at Kalachakra, Bodh Gaya
A free medical camp was organized by Men-Tsee-Khang under supervision of the Special Task Department from 2 to 15 January, 2017 during the 34th Kalachakra initiated by his Holiness the Dalai Lama at Bodh Gaya. Kalachakra initiation by His Holiness the Dalai Lama is one of the largest congregations of Tibetan Buddhists where thousand of the devotees flock together for a religious purpose.
Men-Tsee-Khang, driven with the motive to serve people in terms of health care provided medical services to the devotees. Four Medical teams were stationed at the four main hub centers: Near Kalachakra teaching ground, Magadh University, Tergar Monastery and Tibetan Reception Centre.
The Medical team consisted of 2 Doctors, 2 dispensers and a cashier along with 12 administrative staff to provide better service to the devotees. Men-Tsee-Khang herbal products and books of his Holiness the Dalai Lama were displayed.
The doctors provided health consultation as well as advised on healthy lifestyle. Massage therapy team led by Mr. Lei Wei Tsai provided treatment to the patients who were suffering from chronic pain.
Charity amounting to Rs. 143,972.38 was given by Men-Tsee-Khang to the devotees who had come to attend the 34th Kalachakra teaching.
Men-Tsee-Khang would like to express its heartfelt gratitude to H.H. the Dalai Lama's charitable trust undertaken by Department of Finance, CTA and Dr. Tsering Dorjee Dekhang from Canada for their generous Kalachakra fund donations. Tergar Monastery of Gyalwang Karmapa allotted free tents and furniture for clinic. Mahayana Hotel, a unit of Namgayal Monastery provided mattresses and free space for Mess setting up unit. We would like to thank Tibetan reception Center and Magadh University to set up medical camp clinic space and CTA Organizing committee for the full support and free tents given at medical camp.
