Our team members consisting of Dr. Tsering Norbu(Head of Materia-Medica-Department, T.M.A.I.), Dr. Thinlay Chomphel(Materia-Medica-Department, T.M.A.I.), Dr. Sonam(coordinator of Sikkim Government), Dr. Durga Pradhan(Principal scientist of Forest Department, Sikkim) and Mr. Tsewang Gyaltsen(horticulturist) explored medicinal herbs in the North Sikkim. We covered the areas like Thangku, the surrounding mountains of Gurudongmar, Tsobta and Lamzey during which we found one hundred and sixteen Tibetan medicinal herbs. These areas stand at an elevation between 4039m to 5136m above sea level.

The areas like Lachung, Yumthang, Duddaglhawa and the surroundings of Sanglaphu stands at an elevation between 2800m to 5000m above sea level. In these areas, we managed to find seventy eight Tibetan medicinal herbs which also grows in large quantity. I have personally introduced all the medicinal herbs to Mr.Tsewang Gyaltsen(horticulturist).

Last, but not the least, i believe that since a large number of Tibetan medicinal herbs have been so far successfully explored, it will benefit Sikkim Government's project of exploring natural medicinal ingredients.
