A two day workshop on "Intellectual Property Law" was given by Ms. Leila Mamoni of France from 1-3 Oct, 2013 at Men-Tsee-Khang conference hall. 

Transmission and protection of knowledge is a universal perspective regardless of sharing knowledge and know how.  However the access and transmission of knowledge depends on social and cultural factors.  Ms. Leila Mamoni spoke about the history of how the Intellectual Property Law came into existence, types of property, what is property? And what is law? She also covered topics including patents, copyrights, trademarks, bio piracy etc. 

She is a cultural anthropologist and graduated in Intellectual Property Rights Management (IPRs) Master 2 equivalence from Strasbourg Faculty of Economy. She has attended negotiations held by the Intergovernmental Comity (IGC) of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) on protection of genetic resources, traditional knowledge and folklore (GRTKF).  There were 15 attendees including doctors and administrative staff.
