Men-Tsee-Khang (Tibetan Medical & Astro. Institute of H.H. the Dalai Lama) is an Institute of traditional Tibetan medicine and astrology. The aim of the Institute is to preserve, promote and revive the ancient old traditions of Tibetan culture amongst which Tibetan Medicine and Astrology are one of the five major fields of knowledge.

Services required:
Men-Tsee-Khang accepts volunteers experienced in various fields like Research, Projects, English teachers, Professional & technical writing, Editing etc.

Facilities provided:
We offer free accommodation with a room and attached bathroom within the premises of our Institute. We also provide simple meals in our staff and student mess.

The duration of the volunteer service depends on the time frame of the individual. But it should not be less than 3 to 4 weeks.

Period of visit:
At any given time, we have one or more volunteers. Since we only have 2 guest rooms, we need to plan accordingly. So, we need to liaise with volunteers in such a way that they come at times, when our guest rooms are available.

We need volunteers throughout the year. But, for the volunteers, the following are good times in Dharamsala:

March - June summer, pleasant weather
June- Aug monsoon season
Sept - Nov autumn, pleasant weather
Nov - Feb winter season

Delhi Coordinator:
We have an office in New Delhi for handling travel requirements of our staff often on official tours to various countries, to assist friends of Men-Tsee-Khang, etc.
